Psychedelic Integration Therapy
In the Bay, psychedelics have been around for generations. San Francisco was ground zero to the LSD movement in the 60’s and Oakland decriminalized mushrooms in 2019. For many, psychedelics are a way of life. Psychedelics are excavators and initiate deep inner work. After a profound psychedelic experience, it’s common to feel overwhelmed, disoriented, or unsure how to bring the insights back into everyday life.
That’s where integration begins.
Psychedelic integration therapy helps you make meaning of your experience whether it felt mystical, painful, clarifying, or confusing. It’s a place to ground what you’ve learned and explore the parts of you that surfaced in altered states. “Bad trips” or incomplete experiences can open the door to transformation.
I work with adults across California via secure telehealth, including many in the Bay Area who are navigating insights from ketamine therapy, ayahuasca, psilocybin, LSD, or other consciousness-expanding practices. Whether your journey was recent or years ago, integration can help you:
Reconnect with your values and sense of purpose
Explore parts of self that surfaced during your experience
Process trauma, grief, or fear that arose
Stay grounded without losing the depth of your insight
Build a bridge between altered states and daily life
My approach is to lead with curiosity and honoring the internal wisdom of clients and the plant medicine. It’s also deeply trauma-informed, there’s no pressure to force meaning or fix anything. Just space, curiosity, and care.
You don’t need to be part of the “scene” to benefit from this work. Whether you’re a seeker, skeptic, or somewhere in between, your experience is welcome here.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is integration therapy?
Integration therapy offers clients an opportunity to process and integrate their emotions, insight, and experiences. These sessions will explore the content of the psychedelic experience to explore its meaning and significance while identifying practical steps for integrating insights into their daily life.
Do you offer guided sessions?
No. I do not offer guided sessions. I do not offer or sell any substances. Integration therapy is for processing after a psychedelic experience not during.
Do psychedelics cure mental illness?
No. Psychedelics do not cure mental illness. Psychedelics aid in the treatment of mental illness by identifying areas of growth and provide significant insights into your thinking/behaviors. It is important to explore and process insights in order to integrate these changes.
What are the benefits of psychedelic integration therapy?
There are many benefits of using psychedelics including increased awareness. Psychedelics can provide people with profound insights into their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and memories. It can help clients jump start healing on trauma, enhance your wellbeing, increase your connection to the spiritual, and improve your personal growth. Always talk to a medical professional to explore risks.
I am scared to try psychedelics and lose control. Is there a way to start with a small non-psychedelic dose?
Yes, often times less is more. I have clients who consume small doses (less than 1.5 grams of psilocybin) which to be clear is not the same as microdosing. While taking a small dose may not induce hallucinations or lead to ego death, it will guide you to inner work.
I have done mushrooms with my friends and didn’t experience any therapeutic benefit, why not?
There is a difference between recreational use of plant medicines and therapeutic use. First, with therapeutic use it begins many days before the journey with preparation by setting intentions and managing diet. Setting intentions acts as the road map for the journey giving you a direction for your trip. Depending on the plant medicine some have restrictive diets that begin two weeks out. Psilocybin is the least restrictive although I encourage people to abstain from meat/alcohol for at least 72 and caffeine for 24 hours. Please research specific diet requirements before your journey. I also advise to manage media diet 3-4 days before a journey.
How is a therapeutic journey different from a recreational journey?
First, it starts with intentions and preparations. Second, a therapeutic journey is done with eyes shut or an eye pillow for the entire journey. The recommended music is instrumental only and something that is not part of your normal music rotation.
