Men’s issues in the 21st Century

Therapy for men looking to improve relationships & manage stress more effectively

Living in the Bay means navigating high-pressure careers, complex relationships, and big expectations. Many men are never taught how to express emotions openly. Often, embarrassment, guilt, fear, or even sadness come out looking like anger. This leads to unsatisfying relationship patterns. Unsatisfying romantic relationships, unsatisfying friendships, and even unsatisfying familial relationships.

I work with men who want to have more authentic relationships. This means exploring emotional shutdown, anger, and/or disconnection. Other times, it means unpacking painful patterns like compulsive behaviors around sex, masturbation, or pornography. We also explore challenges like divorce, conflict in long-term relationships, difficulty expressing vulnerability, or questions around sexual performance and desire.

These issues are common and are rarely talked about. And they often stem from dysfunctional ideas about what men should feel, want, or express. My goal isn’t to tell you how to be a man, but to help you understand your internal world with more clarity and compassion, allowing you to respond instead of just react.

My approach integrates attachment theory, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and systems theory, with practical tools to support change. Sessions are confidential, nonjudgmental, and tailored to your pace. Whether you're working through personal struggles or trying to be more present in your relationships, therapy can help you move forward with insight and integrity.
